“The story of our conversion to organic viticulture” sets out already many of our choices. Here, we explain some essential points for understanding what happens in the vineyard and in the winery.
The Blend
The grape varieties are a blend of the traditional varieties of the Médoc which bring out the richness and complexity of the wines:
• Merlot – for smoothness and charm
• Cabernet Sauvignon – for power and ageing potential
• Cabernet Franc – for freshness
• Petit Verdot – for the characteristic tension of a good Médoc wine
As the clay-limestone soils particularly favour Merlot, this variety is dominant in our vineyard, and this explains the suppleness of our wines, even when young.
